A beautiful turn of the last century campground where young men learn core values, hard work, camaraderie, and life skills in an open camp setting. Campers from multiple countries, and all over the US come together for an immersive summerlong program. There are slight military touches (similar to scouts); those opposed to the NRA may wish to consider an alternative environment for their sons.

My son was nine years old when we sent him away to Camp Mowglis last summer and we did have some reservations about him being away for so long. I am happy to say that it was a great experience. Daniel still talks about camp and is looking forward to going back again. I was very impressed with how personalized our experience was. We received personal letters that reassured us that Daniel was being well taken care of and that he was being worked with and treated as an individual, not just another kid in the group. He really enjoyed himself and I believe there was a lot of personal growth that only happens with a bit of independence from family and a well structured program with a great staff.

I was introduced to Mowglis through a brother inlaw who attended the camp as a child. My oldest son attended in 2009 and 2010 when he graduated with his Den class. When my son came home from a summer at camp he was a much more mature gentleman, that had learned to live in a community as a productive member. Although at first he was upset about the "no electronics" policy, he said that it was actually great to be without a connection to the world. When I heard this from a 13 and 14 year old I knew it was a special place. My youngest son has attended 2010, 2013 and will continue for the next two summers until he graduates. When school gets really tough I hear the comment " I wish I was back at camp". The boys can take on as much of a challenge as they want, they learn how to be gentlemen. As part of the community the boys have duties which are carried out each day, as well as have industries such as , tennis, archery, riflery, crafts, camping, wood shop, swimming, canoeing, sailing, jr. lifeguard training, row boating, weather, drama, kyaking and more. What more could a boy ask for? I would suggest this camp to every parent of a boy. The friendships developed here last a life time, and they boys have an opportunity to come back after graduation to work as a Jr. Counselor, or Counselor if they choose. Check it out. What better place for your son than in the open air, busy from morning to night, and growing to be a caring respectable gentleman.

I was at Mowglis from 1959-1962, over 50 years ago. I always think of it as the place I grew up. Away from home for the first time, I found life-long interests and learned how to work steadily in pursuit of long-term goals. I grew stronger each summer, and the successes I had there carried over into my school work and sports. The lessons learned are still with me today.

If anyone could focus on one thing and had done it for over 110+ years, it got to be GREAT! Mowglis has that "great"! It takes a village to raise a boy and Mowglis is that village I trust to send my boy to.
